Monument Protection
The current situation in Russia, where many architectural buildings and constructions representing significant cultural and historical value are deprived of the State protection, is critical. Monuments are not considered monuments officially, and therefore can fall prey to the construction boom, where all too often, architectural masterpieces are replaced with the new construction.
Along with the Committee on Cultural Heritage of Moscow, the Russian Avantgarde Foundation has organized work on maintenance of the state protection of architectural buildings. By request of the foundation, the Commission of Committee on Cultural Heritage of Moscow has already listed several buildings as objects of heritage.
